About Laura Poole

Laura Poole is a Certified Professional Coach, a member of the International Coaching Federation, and the founder of Archer Coaching. Her passion is helping professionals create the career of their dreams and inspiring groups to work together for success.

Laura completed her training in 2007 at Erickson College, Vancouver. She is a Member of the International Coach Federation. She graduated cum laude from Duke University in 1995 with a double major in English and Women’s Studies. She attended the NC School for Science and Mathematics in Durham, NC, graduating in 1991.

Laura is an accomplished public speaker and brings a wealth of experience in leadership, sales excellence, training, and communications into her work. She is an active member of Toastmasters International, in which she serves as a club and district officer, and has completed her Competent Toastmaster, Competent Leader, and Advanced Communicator (Bronze) designations. She brings a unique perspective to her clients and speaking audiences by using coaching and visualization techniques to help them tap into their own strengths, create a big-picture context, and develop a strong motivation for learning and change. People come away with deeper meaning, actionable ideas, and pathways for change and transformation.

Laura has been self-employed and running her own successful editing business since 1997. She lives in Durham with her husband and three cats, and she enjoys reading and quilting in her spare time.

A note about life coaches: Presently, there are no regulations governing life coaching, so anyone can call themselves a coach and use whatever methodology they choose in their practice. Laura decided to be specifically trained in an ICF-accredited program through Erickson College, which included more than 100 hours of training, hands-on coaching experience, and a rigorous certification process. In addition, she is a member of the ICF so that she can stay current in coaching modalities and opportunities, as well as achieve accreditation and continue her education in professional coaching.
