BPW/Raleigh
President's Message

August 15, 2010

I write this first President’s Message as the 2010-2011 year opens and we celebrate our 92nd year as a Club. I welcome everyone to this upcoming year!

BPW/Raleigh’s mission is to promote the professional and personal growth of our members by empowering them through networking, education and development. Please click thru here to view our upcoming topics and events. Whether you are a student, a new graduate, a businesswoman, or a professional, you will find we have something that will be beneficial to you.

I also write this first President’s Message one day after wrapping on the BPW/NC documentary, Pioneers in Skirts. It was an AMAZING experience to work with such a dedicated crew. Members from all over the state stepped up to the plate; sending in documents and images; helping to tell the story about BPW – a story with a strong legacy theme. This documentary is about women driven by purpose. It is about true mentorship, true community, and true change. It's about the power of women helping other women.

What an honor it was to listen to the filmmaker interview long time members who were pioneers -- they were business women before there were business women; they were breaking ground and testing waters. We heard how BPW impacted them and changed them.

As we enter our 92nd year, we must never forget our past and the trail blazers who came before us. We have learned that when you dare to dream, you should also dare to do. So, as we look to the future, I am excited to announce this year’s theme: Dare to Achieve; a year-long focus on building skill-sets, experiences, and making connections.

Looking forward to seeing you all – members and guests, at our Tuesday, August 24 kick-off dinner meeting!

Sincerely,
Lea-Ann W. Berst
BPW/Raleigh President
