PLM Families Together Laura Benson (execdir@plmft.org) is the director of PLM Families Together, a nonprofit organization in Wake County for homeless families, that assists 28 families every night with housing and empowering support services. PLMFT has 100 people under roof on any given night, at least 60% of them children. While most of the families are headed by single mothers, PLMFT is one of very few housing programs that welcomes fathers and teenage boys in families, and it is the only program in the entire Triangle that has 3 bedroom apartments for larger homeless families. PLMFT is a proud member of the Triangle United Way and Laura encourages us to participate in our workplace United Way campaigns this fall. PLMFT has the following items on its wish list, that you are welcome to bring to the October meeting, or arrange an alternative drop off with Laura:
For more information about PLMFT, come to the next 1-hour "Journey Day" briefings (not a fundraiser!), on Sept. 19 at noon, or Oct. 17 at 9 a.m. www.plmft.org "Helping homeless families reach independence, since 1980"
