Building Powerful Women

BPW/USA Foundation Policy & Action Day

  • 31 Mar 2011
  • Regional

Advocates will join BPW/USA Foundation to become educated and learn lobby techniques for changes to improve today’s workplace for working women and families. Learn the issues.

This year BPW/USA Foundation will host half-day, regional meetings across the country to discuss and examine key issues for working women, particularly those affecting women veterans.

The vision for regional meetings is to engage BPW Foundation constituents, local and partner organizations, Members of Congress and women veterans. Locations will be announced soon and will geographically diverse and spread across the nation.

In previous years, BPW Foundation hosted Policy & Action in Washington, DC and attendees lobbied on the Hill. This new approach for 2011 is due to several market conditions that are impacting policy and advocacy.

• This new and upcoming Congress will heavily impact issues concerning working women and families. It will also take some time to set a policy/legislative agenda.
• The recovering economy remains a barrier to full participation in national events. Half-day, regional meetings may allow potential attendees to participate.
• This regional event provides an opportunity for new BPW Foundation constituents and supporters to attend and learn about BPWs community and advocacy work.
