Closing Panelist Session: Speaking the Truth:

These uncertain times require more from us to meet challenges and overcome adversities.  These times are also great opportunities for us to question long-held sacred cows, to discuss what is “undiscussable” and take risks to share our insights.  Do you speak up or stay silent?  Are you heard or do you feel ignored?  In this session, learn from our experienced women engineers how they have overcome barriers and false perceptions throughout their careers and how they have learned to work effectively in a male-dominated profession.  This interactive discussion will deal candidly with how to build your resilience and capacity to speak your truth and how to take a stand – respectfully and appropriately – for what you believe in when it matters most.

Panelists:
Sepi Asefnia, Sepi Engineering | Rina Cutler, Deputy Mayor for Transportation & Utilities for the City of Philadelphia | Valoree Eikinas, Mulkey Engineers & Consultants | Catherine Karakatsanis, Engineers Canada | Pam Townsend, AECOM

Dr.
Terri Helmlinger Ratcliff, PE, Executive Director, IES, NCSU
